My Holistic Approach to Fall Skincare with Osmosis
Healthy-looking skin starts with understanding what your skin needs – and giving it consistent
support.
By Francesca Scognamiglio | October 17, 2026
Does your skin feel tight after washing? Have products you once loved started to sting? Are you
noticing dryness and wondering whether you need another exfoliating treatment?
Before adding anything new, I want you to pause. Sometimes, your skin is asking for a simpler
routine and a little more care.
As an esthetician, holistic skincare coach, and permanent makeup artist, I approach skincare by
looking at the whole picture: the products you use, how often you use them, your daily habits, and
what your skin is experiencing right now.
At Francesca Permanent Makeup Studio & Academy in Orange, California, that philosophy shapes
how I approach skincare with Osmosis. My goal is to help you build a routine that supports
comfortable, hydrated skin – and fits your life.
Understanding Your Skin’s Protective Barrier
Your skin’s outermost layer helps keep moisture in and irritants out. When that protective barrier
becomes disrupted, you may notice dryness, flaking, stinging, or increased sensitivity.
Frequent exfoliation, harsh cleansing, hot water, and irritating products can all contribute. Dry
weather can make those symptoms more noticeable. The first step is often simple: gentle cleansing,
a moisturizer your skin tolerates, and fewer irritating products. Persistent symptoms deserve a
dermatologist’s assessment because dryness and redness can have several causes.
What Holistic Skincare Means to Me
Holistic skincare means considering the person behind the skin concern. When we review your
routine, I want to understand more than which serum you bought. How does your skin feel after
cleansing? Have you recently introduced several products? Does your routine fit your schedule, or
has caring for your skin become another source of stress?

WHOLE-PERSON CARE / A PERSONALIZED ROUTINE
Support Your Skin Through Everyday Habits
I encourage attention to the everyday foundations of well-being:
• Regular meals with a variety of foods.
• Adequate hydration throughout the day.
• A consistent sleep routine.
• Realistic ways to make room for rest.
• Daily sun protection and gentle skincare habits.
These habits belong alongside topical care. They are not a promise that lifestyle changes will
resolve every skin concern. You also do not need a restrictive diet or a shelf full of supplements to
begin taking a holistic approach. We can start with a manageable routine and build from there.
Why Osmosis Fits My Approach
Osmosis describes its philosophy as a holistic approach to skin health, considering both topical
skincare and overall wellness. That perspective fits the kind of thoughtful, individualized care I want
to provide.
But choosing a professional brand is only part of the process. The individual formula still needs to
suit your skin. A product that works beautifully for someone else may not be right for you, especially
when your skin is already reactive. My focus is on choosing carefully, introducing products
gradually, and paying attention to how your skin responds.
An Osmosis Routine We Can Personalize for You
You do not need every product below. These are options we can consider after reviewing your
current routine, sensitivity, and goals.
1. Cleanse Gently with
Osmosis Cleanse
Cleansing should leave your skin feeling comfortable. Osmosis Cleanse is the brand’s Gentle
Cleanser, formulated with ingredients including coconut oil and fatty acids. It also contains lavender
and peppermint essential oils – something I would consider carefully if you have fragrance
sensitivity or easily irritated skin.
The right starting point is a cleanser you tolerate well, used with lukewarm water and a gentle
touch.
2. Consider Targeted Support with
Osmosis Rescue
Osmosis Rescue Epidermal Repair Serum is an option to discuss when skin looks stressed or visibly
red. Osmosis describes it as a lightweight serum designed to help improve the appearance of
redness and irritation.
I would consider its place in your routine based on your skin’s needs. A serum is an optional addition
to the basics, and it does not replace evaluation of persistent inflammation or a skin condition.

OSMOSIS SKINCARE / MOISTURE AND VITAMIN A
3. Moisturize with
Osmosis Quench
Osmosis Quench Nourishing Moisturizer offers lightweight moisture with ingredients including jojoba
seed oil and hyaluronic acid. It may suit someone who wants softer-feeling skin without a heavy
cream. Its formula also contains lemon oil, so individual tolerance matters.
The goal is comfortable skin throughout the day. If your moisturizer leaves you stinging or still
feeling tight, we should reassess the formula and the rest of your routine.
4. Consider
Osmosis Immerse
for Extra Conditioning
For skin that needs richer conditioning, Osmosis Immerse Restorative Facial Oil is another option.
The brand recommends applying a small amount to the skin or mixing it into a moisturizer.
It contains emu oil, sunflower oil, and botanical ingredients, including essential oils. We would
review those ingredients before choosing it for sensitive skin. More layers are not automatically
better. Sometimes your skin needs additional moisture; sometimes it needs fewer products.
5. Keep Daily Sun Protection in Your Routine
Finish your morning routine with a broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher that your skin tolerates.
Continue sun protection throughout the year, and reapply as directed, especially when outdoors.
Introducing Retinaldehyde When Your Skin Is Ready
For clients seeking a gentler approach to vitamin A, we can discuss the retinaldehyde used in
Osmosis advanced serums
. Depending on the formulation and your skin’s tolerance, it may offer a
more skin-friendly option for an ongoing routine.
My approach is to support your skin’s barrier first. Once your skin feels comfortable and balanced,
we can decide when to introduce a retinaldehyde serum and how often to use it based on your
individual needs.

PERMANENT MAKEUP / YOUR FALL RESET
How This Connects to Permanent Makeup
As a permanent makeup artist, I consider the condition of the skin part of appointment planning.
Before brow, eyeliner, or lip work, please tell me about irritation, peeling, recent treatments, and
the skincare products you use around the treatment area. If the skin is actively irritated, we may
need to adjust the timing of your appointment.
I want us to prepare thoughtfully, without introducing a complicated new regimen immediately
before your procedure.
After treatment, follow your procedure-specific aftercare instructions.
Your everyday Osmosis
routine is separate from fresh permanent makeup aftercare.
Do not apply facial serums,
oils, exfoliants, or other unapproved products directly to the treated area until you have been
advised that it is appropriate.
Skincare also cannot guarantee pigment retention or a particular healed color. Technique, pigment
selection, skin characteristics, and aftercare all need consideration.
Your Fall Reset Can Be Simple
Start by bringing your current product list – or photos of the labels – to your consultation. Together,
we can look at what your skin tolerates, identify unnecessary steps, and decide whether an Osmosis
product would be a useful addition.
At home, give yourself permission to keep things manageable. Cleanse gently. Moisturize
consistently. Protect your skin from the sun. Make room for regular meals, hydration, and rest.
Introduce changes gradually so you can understand what is helping. My goal is for you to feel
confident caring for your skin, with a routine you understand and can maintain.
Let’s Build a Routine Around Your Skin
If your skin has become dry, sensitive, or difficult to manage, I would love to help you review your
routine. At Francesca Permanent Makeup Studio & Academy, we can explore Osmosis options and
create a personalized skincare plan that considers your skin, your lifestyle, and any upcoming
permanent makeup appointments.

YOUR QUESTIONS / PERSONALIZED SUPPORT
Frequently Asked Questions
Does holistic skincare mean using only natural ingredients?
No. To me, holistic care means considering your overall needs and choosing products thoughtfully.
Natural ingredients, including essential oils, can still irritate some people. Your skin’s response
matters more than a label.
Do I need all four Osmosis products?
No. A cleanser, suitable moisturizer, and sunscreen may be enough to begin. Serums and facial oils
should have a clear purpose in your routine.
Can I use these products on freshly treated permanent
makeup?
Only if they are specifically included in your aftercare instructions. Products intended for everyday
skincare are not automatically appropriate for freshly treated brows, eyeliner, or lips.
What if simplifying my routine does not help?
Persistent redness, burning, cracking, or worsening symptoms should be assessed by a
dermatologist. A skincare consultation can help with product selection, but it cannot diagnose the
cause.
